TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As the yearend holiday is approaching, workers in big cities have started packing for their vacations. With several weeks to go, it is time for you to prepare your vacation.

There are at least five important things to consider before heading to your favorite destinations. They are listed below.

1. Check the weather

The weather condition at the end of the year is frequently erratic. Some places are showered with heavy rain, while in other places, it could be sunny all the time.

You need to check the general weather condition in your destinations. Therefore, you will be able to prepare things that are appropriate for such conditions.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has a special mobile app that provides information on weather forecasts across the country. Meanwhile, those who are traveling overseas YahooWeather and GoogleWeather are the perfect app to check the weather conditions.

2. Choose the perfect timing

Tourist destinations will definitely be packed with tourists at the end of the year. As a result, price hikes in airplane tickets and hotel rooms will be unavoidable.

You can anticipate such a situation by booking tickets earlier or later than the holiday season. By leaving or returning on working days, you vacation may not be as crowded and as expensive as during the holiday season.

3. Arrange your activities during the holiday

In order to have a memorable vacation, you also need to consider activities to be conducted during the holiday. As soon as you find the perfect destination, you must immediately decide what to do there.

Bali is a great place to watch art performances all night long and explore the nature. Spending the holiday in metropolitan cities, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Singapore, would be in vain without shopping or having a culinary adventure. If you are planning to spend the holiday in Sumatera or Kalimantan, you should definitely explore the nature and enjoy local culture festivals.

4. Use an OTA app to arrange your trip

Using an online travel agent (OTA) app will free yourself from the stress of preparing the vacation. With the right OTA, you can ensure that the trip will be fun. Choosing an OTA with the Check-in Online feature, you are no longer required to open the airline’s website to complete the check-in process or standing in lines at the check-in counter.

5. Have a backup plan

Having a backup plan during a high season is important. Should Plan A not work as expected, you backup plan will ensure that you can have a memorable vacation. The plan should cover other places and activities to enjoy.
