Hafiz – Gloria Fail to Advance to Korea Masters 2017 Final

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Not a single team from Indonesia has advanced to the final of Korea Masters 2017. The only hopefuls Hafiz Faizal and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja suffered a defeat in the semifinal.

During a match held at Yeomju Gymnasium in Gwangju on Saturday, the Hafiz-Gloria team were defeated by host Seo Seung Jae-Kim Ha Na. The Indonesian team was defeated 21-15 and 21-11 in a straight game.

The host team only needed 36 minutes to finish the game.

Earlier, two Indonesian mixed doubles teams advanced to the quarter-final of the tournament. However, Alfian Eko Prasetya and Melati Daeva Oktaviani were defeated by Korean team Kim Won-ho and Shin Seung-chan with scores of 21-18, 12-21, 18-21.

Overall, there were five Indonesian representatives who advanced to the quarter-final. Four of them failed to advance to the semifinals. Although Hafiz and Gloria managed to go to the semifinals, they could not bring home the trophy.
