TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - American alternative rock band Sixpence None the Richer fascinated audience during The 90’s Festival held at Jakarta’s Gambir Expo Kemayoran on Saturday, November 25. Without any introductions, band personnel Leigh Nash and Matt Slocum showed up onstage and performed Breath Your Name.
Wearing black abaya, Leigh was very communicative with the audiences. She threw several funny remarks and made the audiences laughed.
Amid the performance, Leigh told the audience that her father died two years ago. When she was singing, she felt her father presence among the audiences. Leigh jokingly said, “Daddy, come back. Don’t go.”
Sixpence None the Richer successfully brought the audiences back to the 90s with their songs, such as Don’t Dream It’s over, There She Goes, Too Far Gone, Tonight, and A Million Parachutes. When the band performed Kiss Me, which is the original soundtrack of a film entitled She’s All That, all audiences sang along, “Oh, kiss me, beneath the milky twilight, lead me, out on the moonlit floor.”
Leigh Nash conclude her performance at The 90’s Festival by taking selfies with audiences as the background.
