TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thousands of online ride-hailing drivers (ojek) marched from Monas and ended in front of the State Palace today. They demanded the government to be assertive in laying-down regulations for online based transportations.
“Please issue a clear regulation if we are truly legally recognized. If not, then just simply ban the operations of app-based services,” said Chairman of Forum Warga Kota Jakarta (FAKTA) Azas Tigor who accompanied the demonstrators.

Azas Tigor claims that the rally is participated by 1,600 multiple app based motorcycle taxi drivers. He said that they would legally challenge the government and hold a larger rally than today if their aspirations are not heard.
“We will escort this [issue] until an official regulation is ratified,” said Azas.
Hundreds of police members can be seen guarding the rally that was participated by app-based motorcycle taxi drivers (ojek) from several regions such as Depok, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi.
