Minister: Fuel Supplies Unaffected by Mount Agung Eruption

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Ignasius Jonan said electricity and fuel supplies in Bali would not be affected by Mount Agung eruption.
“There’s no problem with fuel and electricity supplies, because [state-owned power company] PLN had anticipated it,” Jonan said in a press release on Tuesday, November 21.
Mount Agung erupted yesterday at 5:05 p.m. Central Indonesia Time. Jonan called on the public to remain calm and follow government’s instructions.

The Ministry had been in communications with the Bali Provincial government and the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) in relation to the volcanic activity of Mount Agung.
People living near Mount Agung, hikers, visitors, and tourists are suggested to stay away from the red zone. The restricted zone includes areas within a radius of six kilometers from the crater.
The residents living near Mount Agung are also suggested to prepare masks and eye protectors to prevent acute respiratory inspection.
