TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Setya Novanto today underwent another Corruption Eradication Commission`s (KPK) questioning as a suspect of electronic ID cards (e-KTP) corruption case. After attending the questioning for 4.5 hours, Setya`s lawyer Fredrich Yunadi claimed that the questioning of his client has been suspended.
“His physical condition has dropped. So, the second questioning has been suspended,” Fredrich said at the KPK building in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 21.
When exiting the KPK building at around 3 p.m. with Setya, Fredrich said his client was having a headache. As a result, the anti-graft agency allowed the DPR Speaker to rest for the day.

Setya Novanto is the sixth suspect named in the e-KTP graft case. The House of Representatives (DPR) speaker was named as a suspect on November 10, 2017. On November 20, 2017, he was declared as KPK’s detainee.
KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said that he could not confirm whether investigators have suspended the probe provided that Setya has not yet recovered after having an accident. However, Febri clarified that his office has received the examination results from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI).
Febri explained that Setya Novanto has the right to either being honest or remain silent for his own interest. According to the KPK spokesperson, the process of exposing Setya’s involvement in the case does not solely depend on Setya’s testimony.
“Being honest during the probe would be better for the suspect’s interest,” Febri suggested.
