TEMPO.CO, Central Kalimantan - Flash floods due to the overflow of Lahei River – a lesser tributary of Barito River — in Lahei district, North Barito Regency, continue to spread and has entered the fifth day.
Previously, flash floods inundated more than 700 houses and public facilities in six villages along Lahei River. The villages include Haragandang, Karendan, Muara Pari and Rahaden. Two other villages, Bengahon and Muara Inu, are situated at the downstream.

"This morning we received a report from Juju Baru Village chief claiming that his village is inundated by1.5 meter water," Lahei district secretary Sukarto said on Saturday, Nov. 18.
North Barito administration has distributed aid to four villages. "The remaining three villages at the downstream will receive aid today," Sukarto confirmed.
Tents and public kitchen have been set up in a number of locations close to the areas inflicted by the flood. "In the meantime, estimation on damages and victims is still unknown," Sukarto concluded.
