Taman Safari Reports Visitors for Giving Liquor to Animals

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Taman Safari Indonesia (TFI) employees officially filed a police report against three visitors for allegedly forcing zoo animals to drink liquor.
The three visitors were reported by two TSI security officers under the assumption of torturing several animals as regulated under Article 302 of the Criminal Code.

“We were informed about the incident at 5 in the afternoon, at the time I watched a video of some visitors feeding alcoholic beverages to several animals at Taman Safari Indonesia via Instagram uploaded @alyccaaa,” said TSI security officer M Umar on Thursday, November 16.

Umar further explained that the animals that were fed alcohol included a Black Back or Indian deer, a hippopotamus, and a zebra,” he explained.
Umar searched the area in Taman Safari Indonesia together with several other security officers to capture the group but could not find them. The suspects were seen feeding the animals with vegetables, but as soon as the animals were attracted, they poured alcoholic beverages into the animals’ mouths.
