Mexico Buys Indonesia`s N219 Plane

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Mexican government has agreed to buy N219 aircraft and radioisotopes made in Indonesia. The agreement was reached in a bilateral consultation forum between the two nations in Mexico City on November 10-12.

In the 6th Bilateral Consultative Forum (FKB), the Indonesian Delegation was chaired by the Director General of America and Europe, Ambassador Muhammad Anshor. Meanwhile, the Mexican Delegation was led by the Director General of Asia Pacific of the Mexican Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ambassador Alfonso de Maria y Campos.

The two countries signed an agreement for Mexico to purchase Indonesia's leading products, the Mo-99 and I-131 radioisotope, on an ongoing basis. The agreement is marked by the signing of a Letter of Intent between PT. INUKI and ININ Mexico.

The FKB also noted Indonesia's success in marketing the homemade aircraft types N212i, N235, and N219, which is realized gradually until the next five years.

PT. Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI), represented by North America (INA), signed a deal with Mexican partner Promotera Aerospacial El Paso (PAEP) to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service for the CASA and its spare parts.

Some time ago, President Joko Widodo conveyed his wish for the N219 Nurtanio manufactured by PT DI can be marketed well and help develop Indonesia's aviation sector.
