TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Watching television for too long can increase a person’s risk of blood clots.

Clots can occur in legs, hands, hips and lungs, known as venous thromboembolism (VTE). Listed below are some tips to prevent blood clots.

1. Drink a lot of water

If you are dehydrated, there is a possibility that a blood clot has occurred. Therefore, it is important to drink a lot of water, at least 8 glasses a day. It will not only prevent blood clots but also other diseases.

2. Grape juice

Purple grape contains flavonoids that help prevent blood clots.

3. Garlic

Garlic is rich in allicin known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Add garlic into your food on a regular basis or eat 1-2 garlic in the morning to help prevent blood clots.

4. Olive oil

Olive oil contains healthy fat that is good for your health. It is basically phenols in olive oil that help prevent blood clots.

5. Kiwi

Eating kiwi is good for your heart, help reduce cholesterol and risk of blood clots.
