TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Industry Ministry is currently taking intensive measures to realize sharia-based economy in Indonesia, one of which by launching an entrepreneurship program for santri (students of Islamic boarding school) called Santripreneur Implemented from in 2013-2015.
This program is intended to develop small and medium industry (IKM) in Islamic boarding school.
"There are two models designed to achieve such a goal including Santri engage in Industry, Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) create," the ministry's director general for SMEs Gati Wibawaningsih said on Sunday (12/11).
The first model, Santri engaging in industries, Gati explained, focuses on developing existing industrial unit and human resources in the school consisting of the students and alumni.
Meanwhile for the second model, Santri creating, is a professional training and mentoring to develop creative potentials of selected students and alumni from several schools in visual arts, animation, and multimedia in accordance to current standards in industry.
He claimed that several programs of Santripeneur pilot project have been running, for example in Sunan Drajat Islamic School, among others.
