TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian renowned stand-up comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono has toured throughout five continents for his stand-up shows. Following numerous cities he has stopped-by, Pandji presented his own list of `go-to` places for travelers.
Here are the 5 destinations recommended by Pandji:
1. Johannesburg, South Africa
Visiting this city, you have the option to indulge in a safari expedition in the Savanna where humans and wildlife often interact with each other. This city is also culturally rich with its history where there is an apartheid museum to immortalize the struggle and fight that once took place in South Africa. It also houses the famous paleoanthropological site, the cradle of humankind.
2. Melbourne, Australia
Through his visit here, Pandji described Melbourne as a neat city with adequate infrastructures. Which is not a surprise since Melbourne was voted as the world’s best city to live in for seven consecutive years, “Melbourne is the place if you want to experience how nice it feels to live in a great city,” said Pandji.
3. San Francisco, The United States
Pandji personally considers San Francisco as the city that has the most beautiful urban landscape, complemented by its plentiful unique buildings. This city is considered as the friendliest city for pets in the United States.
4. Berlin, Germany
The satirical stand-up comedian likens Berlin as the Bandung of Germany. Bandung, West Java, is known for its clearly visible youth spirit where many creative industries are born. Berlin’s history also draws the attention of international tourists to plunge deeper into Germany’s culture.
5. Belitong, Indonesia
“Belitong is the most suitable place if you want to escape from the problems in the world,” said Pandji. He described Belitong as a peaceful place. Uniquely, there are a plethora of coffee stalls spread across the city. There is a street in the region, according to Pandji, that had numerous coffee shops. However, he explained that the island’s diamond is in its breathtaking beaches.
