“After this, we will continue with the construction of toll roads to West Bekasi and Tambun,” Jokowi said during the inauguration. PT Waskita Toll Road, a subsidiary of state-owned construction company Wijaya Karya, owns the majority of the Becakayu toll road shares at 98.97 percent. The rest are owned by state-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga at 1.03 percent.

The construction of Becakayu toll road had been suspended since 1996 or for 21 years. President Joko Widodo instructed the resumption of the project in early 2015. The total length of the toll road is 21.04 kilometers. Section I connects Kasablanka and Jaka Sampurna stretching 11 kilometers. Section II, which was planned to connect Jakarta and East Bekasi, is now changed to Tambun.
