TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia`s national Under 19 (U-19) football team will be facing Timor Leste at the Group F qualification of the 2018 AFC U-19 Championship held in South Korea today on 10:00 AM Indonesian Western Time.

Following a 5-0 win against Brunei Darussalam in the previous match, Indonesia is predicted to excel at the match, considering that Timor Leste was previously defeated by Malaysia in a match that ended with a 1-3 score.

However, coach Indra Sjafri refused to underestimate Indonesia’s next opponent. He considers that every Timor Leste players can present a challenge for his team.

Indra stated that his players are in an outstanding physical and mental condition and is ready to take up a challenge. He thinks that Striker Egy Maulana and the rest of the team are already used to the chilling conditions of South Korea.

Midfielder Syahrian Abimanyu said that the team is collectively fired-up in facing the Timor Leste match, ”We must maintain our rhythm and stay consistent, focused, and play it well,” said Syahrian.

Indonesia’s U-19 team is currently leading the 2018 AFC U-19 Group F qualification with a three-point gap. A close second is Malaysia, which ties in points, though slightly under Indonesia’s score.
