TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian authorities successfully rescued two underage South Korean abduction victims who were held hostage by their abductors at the Fraser Residence Sudirman apartment in South Jakarta.
“We arrested one of the suspects at that location,” said police Senior Commissioner Hendy F. Kurniawan on Wednesday, November 1.
Police arrested two of the kidnappers in separate locations. Baik Jong Woon was arrested at the apartment together with the two children. Meanwhile, Sea Song Woon was arrested at the Soekarno-Hatta airport who intended to fly back to South Korea.

The abduction was initially reported by the South Korean Embassy, stating that a 10-year-old was abducted from his home country and was taken to Jakarta by the abductors.
According to Hendy, the case happened on October 24. The children were abducted for ransom. Police immediately handled the case and started an investigation that led them to the Fraser Residence Sudirman apartment.
Police say that both abduction victims have already been handed over to the South Korean Embassy, while the suspects are currently undergoing police questioning.
