TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - BRI Indocomtech 2017, an annual technology fair, has been officially opened on Wednesday, November 1, at Jakarta Convention Center. The event is themed “Digital Smart Living” to promote technology literacy among the public.

The event is held by the Indonesian Computer Entrepreneurs Association (APKOMINDO) in collaboration with PT Traya Eksibisi Internasional (Traya). Traya Events CEO Bambang Setiawan said the fair features a business-to-business expo, where tech companies will meet clients.

In addition, Indocomtech 2017 also provides the Virtual Reality Park for visitors to get a glimpse into the virtual reality world. An online game competition called Revival E-Sport Competition is also held for professional gamers.

State-owned Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) becomes the sponsor of the Indocomtech 2017. “BRI has transformed into a modern bank, and it is the only bank that owns a satellite,” BRI consumer director Handayani said.

As many as 300 domestic and foreign tech companies take part in the event. The BRI Indocomtech expo will also present 15 seminar topics in five days. An entrance fee of Rp20,000 is required to attend the event from Wednesday to Friday. Meanwhile, for Saturday and Sunday, visitors must pay Rp30,000 for a ticket.
