TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali United go top of Liga 1 after beating Sriwjaya FC 3-2 at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar, Bali, yesterday.
Sylvano Comvalius scored a brace for Bali United, cementing his place the top scorer in Indonesian league history with 35 goals. The other goal was scored by Taufiq, whereas Sriwijaya FC netted two through Marco Sandy and Alberto Goncalves.
Sriwijaya FC coach Hartono Ruslan was disappointed with the referee’s decision to rule out their third goal in the match. “In my opinion, we should have equalized in today’s match if our third goal was allowed,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bali United coach Widodo C Putro thanked his players for working hard. “In the first half, our lads entertained the spectators by giving an excellent performance,” he said.
He admitted that his players lost concentration in the second half, allowing the visiting team to score two goals. “We will conduct further evaluation and hopefully the victory will provide a breath of fresh air for the players ahead of the next match,” Widodo said.
As such, Bali United go top of Liga 1 table with 64 points from 32 matches, equal with Bhayangkara FC and PSM Makassar but with a better goal difference. Sriwijaya FC currently ranked 14th in the standings with 38 points from 32 matches.
