TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PolMark Indonesia survey shows that the electability of Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto declined by 5.3 percent compared to his total votes in the 2014 presidential election. Prabowo and his running mate Hatta Rajasa garnered 26.3 percent votes in the election, whereas the former’s electability currently stands at 21 percent, according to PolMark.
Nevertheless, Gerindra Party secretary-general Ahmad Muzani said that the party will still support Prabowo for president in the 2019 election.
“We respect all survey, but the election will only be held on April 17, 2019; there is still time,” Muzani said on Sunday.
Muzani said that the party will once again endorse Prabowo Subianto because the people are still putting their faith in the chairman. Prabowo even has higher electability than Gerindra at 7.1 percent, according to PolMark data. The secretary-general said that the party will continue to improve its electability and its chairman’s.
