TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Financial Services Authority (OJK) said that OJK will go over the incident of Rp1,000 reduction to a number of BNI customers` balance.
"I will check the problem first," deputy commissioner for banking supervision Heru Kristiyana said on Friday evening, Oct. 20.
The incident began from a BNI customer who posted on Facebook that Rp1,000 was reduced from his balance without clear information. The status was later gone viral and a speculation of hacking emerged.

BNI clarified that the incident did not have anything to do with a hack, but it was due to a mistake occurred while the bank was setting cost parameter for a new savings product called Tapenas SiMuda.
BNI performed a change to the parameter setting of Tapenas SiMuda with a fee of Rp1,000 charged to the owners of such accounts. However, the change also affected other products.
Currently, BNI is in the middle of sending back Rp1,000 to their customers who do not use Tapenas SiMuda.
