Yogyakarta Airport Authority Foils Smuggling of 3 kg of Meth

TEMPO.CO, Sleman- Yogyakarta Adisutjpto International Airport security authority thwarted up an attempt of smuggling three kilograms of methamphetamine carried by three passengers of Lion Air on Friday, Oct. 20.
"Meth which is worth around Rp4.5 billion was carried by three passengers of Lion Air taking Yogyakarta-Balikpapan flight," Yogyakarta Narcotics Agency (BNN) chief Mujiyana said on Saturday.

He revealed that three suspects with the initials WW (24) BS (31) and MR (21) carried almost 3 kilograms of meth hidden in their crotches and in their backpacks.
"They packed the drug in four plastic packages weighing 750 grams each," he said.
He explained that the arrest began when Aviation Security (Avsec) officers found them suspicious as they went through the Walk Through Metal Detector (WTMD) on Friday at around 1:16 p.m. The officers directed them to take body screening and found the meth.
