TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani said that he did not only discuss cooperation with President Joko Widodo or Jokowi, but also the Rohingya issue.
“We also discuss the Rohingya issue,” Sheikh Tamim said during a press conference at the Bogor State Palace on Wednesday, October 18.
In the Rakhine State in Myanmar, the people of Rohingya were forced to leave their establishments. Hundreds of thousand people were affected by the conflict.

Sheikh Tamim expressed a commitment to send humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya people. He also called on Myanmar to resolve the problem peacefully.
Sheikh Tamim also mentioned about the blockage against Qatar, saying that it had affected the Qatari people and Gulf countries in general. Earlier, Middle Eastern countries excommunicated Qatar for allegedly supporting terrorist groups.
“We are willing to find a peaceful solution to the problem Qatar is open to negotiations and discussions,” he said.
