TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that the new Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and his deputy Sandiaga Uno can do the job they are mandated to.
Anies and Sandiaga were inaugurated by President Joko Widodo at the State Palace on Monday, October 16, 2017.
"I think the KPK's wish for them is the same as what we hope from all regional heads in Indonesia, which is to work in accordance with the mandate that is regulated and chosen by the people," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said in Jakarta, Monday, October 16.
According to Febri, one of the most important things for KPK related to the newly appointed regional heads, both in Jakarta and other areas, is for them to strengthen efforts to combat corruption.
The inauguration of Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno at the State Palace was attended by a number of leaders of state institutions including DPR speaker Setya Novanto, DPD speaker Oesman Sapta Odang, heads of state institutions, ministers of the Working Cabinet, Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto, and other officials and politicians.
