TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of protesters at the Indonesian Home Affairs Ministry`s (Kemendagri) office turned violent on Wednesday, October 11.
Numerous office windows and computers were damaged during the sudden riot that sparked inside the office complex. The protest was allegedly linked to the Tolikara regional election.
“Currently, the list of damages include damaged office structures, shattered and broken glass windows, and several computers that were also broken,” said Jakarta Metro Police's Director of General Criminal Investigation Sr. Comr. Nico Afinta today.
Joint police force immediately arrived at the location after the riot ended and confiscated evidence left behind by the attackers. Nico also urged victims of the attack to report to the authorities.
