TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has told students to stay away from drugs, pornography and violence.
“Children should be wary of drugs. We have to say no to drugs,” Jokowi said yesterday in a dissemination of the dangers of drugs, pornography and violence attended by Jakarta elementary and secondary school students at JI-Expo in Kemayoran.
The President warned that elementary students should remain cautious about offers from strangers. “For example, candies offered to children, they should be brave to decline and report it to teachers, security guards, parents. You should remember that,” he said.
The former Jakarta governor also encouraged the children to foster unity.
President Joko Widodo and the First Lady Iriana arrived at 7:40 am local time and were welcomed by Women Empowerment and Children Protection Minister Yohana Yembise and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung. The President will later depart for South Tangerang City to open the 32nd Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) at Indonesia Convention Exhibition, BSD City.
Jokowi will meet locals and hand over land titles to Serpong residents.
