TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The reason why President Joko Widodo or Jokowi was late to attend the Indonesian National Armed Forces 72nd Anniversary (HUT TNI) celebration today was that of the severe traffic congestion that formed on the road heading to the entrance of the Indah Kiat Port in Cilegon, Banten.

Severe traffic congestion already started to form at the Jakarta-Merak toll road alternative route. The Presidential entourage was not the only group that was stuck in traffic and was forced to walk to the venue and abandoned their vehicles. Several other state officials who were also heading to the port also found themselves stranded between severe traffic.
