TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Owners of 87 yachts from various countries have signed up for Sail Sabang that is scheduled for November.
“The government expects that 100 yachts will join Sail Sabang,” deputy chief organizer Fauzi Umar said yesterday.
Fauzi said that those who have confirmed their participation include Miss Jacline’s Celcius yacht from Canada and Yosua’s Except One from Japan. “They have flown Sail Sabang Flag in their ships already,” he said.
He said that 87 yachts will be sailing to Karimun Jaya and berthing at Indonesia’s tourist destinations before joining Sail Sabang, Sail Malaysia and Sail Thailand.
Sail Sabang is slated to be held on November 28 to December 4 and will be launched by President Joko Widodo. Aceh Culture and Tourism Board, Sabang administration and Sabang Free Trade and Port Area Agency (BPKS) continue to promote the annual event.
