TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thailand is ready to be a co-host with Indonesia for 2034 World Cup.
"Yes, our country and Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) have considered to propose joint nomination to host 2034 FIFA World Cup," Thailand Soccer Association (FAT) chairman Somyot Poompunmuang stated.
Somyot admitted that the standards of Thailand’s stadiums cannot be compared to those of Indonesian.
"But I’m sure that once we officially propose nomination, our government will provide fund to build new stadiums in compliance with FIFA’s standard," he explained.
Somyot also expressed that Thailand and Indonesian’s commitment is supported by other neighboring South East Asian countries as stated by Asian Football Federation (AFF) secretary general Dato Sri Azzuddin Ahmad.
