TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairman M Syarif ensures that KPK is fully committed to continuing the investigation of electronic ID (e-KTP) graft case despite the fact that the judge accepted some of the pretrial motion proposed by Setya Novanto.
"KPK is committed to continuing the investigation e-KTP graft case that has resulted in a great loss to our country’s finance. A lot of people who are allegedly involved have received grafts from the e-KTP project. It is unjust to let those people get away without legal liability," Syarif said in Jakarta on Friday, Sept. 29.

KPK, he continued, strongly believes that corruption was involved in the e-KTP project. For this case, he went on, two suspects Irman and Sugiharto were declared guilty by Jakarta Anti-corruption Court.
Regarding the judge’s decision declaring that the invalidity of naming Setya Novanto a suspect, Syarif added, KPK will further review the decision and will determine the next move.
"Despite all of those things, KPK respects the court and all the legal processes executed based on the law," he said.
