Asian Games 2018: Nearly 13,000 Volunteers Have Registered

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2018 Asian Games organizing committee INASGOC announced that they have received thousands of people registering as volunteers for the quadrennial sports event, while the registration was only opened last week.
Based on the data provided by the human resources and volunteer department of INASGOC on Tuesday, Sept. 26, the number of people registering reached 12,900 candidates from the original target of 13,000 people.

“I am very pleased to see people’s overwhelming interest in succeeding the 2018 Asian Games as volunteers. This uncontainable positive energy surely convinces us all that sports, in general, is able to unite the nation,” said INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir.
From the total amount, 8,100 of the registered volunteers are in the 17 to 23-year-old range; 3,500 volunteers are 23 to 30-year-olds, and 980 volunteers are in the 30 to 40-year-olds. These volunteers come from regions across Indonesia.
The position that attracted most of the volunteers is the Asian Games Workforce with 5,300 volunteers. The second most favorable position which attracted 2,700 volunteers is a Liaison Officer, followed by NOC Assistant, and lastly as a Protocol Assistant.
