Persib Bandung Manager Umuh Says Team Has Been Unlucky

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Persib Bandung Manager Umuh Muchtar said that the team has been unlucky following three consecutive home draws.
“The players have given their best. Yesterday [in the clash against Bhayangkara FC], we had a lot of chances and Persib dominated ball possession but Lady Luck deserted us. It’s just a matter of luck,” Persib Bandung manager Umuh was quoted as saying by Antara news agency.
Persib got three draws in their last three home matches with Semen Padang, Bali United and Bhayangkara FC.
Umuh said that luck plays a major role in winning a football match aside from hard work.
“We did not play well but sometimes we won. Persib used to play poorly managed to get a victory. Now, they played well but got draws,” he said.
The 2014 league winners are now struggling in 10th position as of game week 26, trailing 18 points from the leader Bhayangkara FC.
Persib had earlier aimed for a top-five finish in Liga 1. However, as the team performance deteriorated, it is getting harder and harder for the team to achieve it.
“I previously pushed Persib for a top-five finish but, being in this condition, I’m wary. I have to make a decision for the team to climb up [the table],” Persib Bandung manager Umuh said.
