TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bhayangkara FC coach Simon McMenemy is disappointed by a 1-1 draw with host Persib in Liga 1 at Si Jalak Harupat stadium in Bandung Regency yesterday.
“Honestly, I’m disappointed because we failed to win in the match against Persib this time,” Bhayangkara FC coach Simon told reporters in a post-match press conference.
The Guardians played neatly in the first half, creating some glorious chances.
They led through Paulo Sergio before Persib’s Michael Essien equalized.
McMenemy said that his team scored from the most difficult chance. “Of all chances we created, the hardest chance became a goal and the easiest ones did not result in goals,” he said.
The Scottish coach said that his players played well to avoid defeat in a difficult ground.
“The players are not stars but we came to Bandung and played well in the first half. The players worked very hard but slowed down in the second half, allowing Persib to score the equalizer,” he said.
As such, Bhayangkara FC stay at the top of Liga 1 table with 53 points, four more than second-place Bali United.
