TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Bank Mandiri has issued 9.61 million electronic cards (E-Money) as per June 2017. This year so far, the bank's average monthly e-money transaction amounts to more than 36.8 million with a value of Rp424.4 billion per month.
"We hope, in the future, this service facility can be improved continuously, both in terms of features and utilization," Mandiri's director of government & institutional Kartini Sally said told Tempo last July.
Corporate Secretary Rohan Hafas said the bank aims to incorporate their e-money system in public facilities such as toll gates, retail stores and malls.
Bank Mandiri has also simplified ways to top-up the electronic cards through Android applications on mobile phones with NFC (near field communication) features.
"That's how we win the market," Rohan told Tempo.
