TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia will export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh in order to supply gas deficit in the country.
Indonesian government and Bangladesh government in the office of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry on Friday, Sept. 15, agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in energy.

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources stated that memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by ESDM Minister Ignasius Jonan and Bangladesh Electricity, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Nasrul Hamid.
The MoU affirmed the readiness and willingness of Bangladesh government to discuss further on the construction of LNG facility and infrastructure in Bangladesh including the possibility of taking LNG supply from Indonesia.
It also confirmed Indonesia’s willingness to facilitate discussion with Indonesia’s LNG producer and marketers.
