TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police named Dodik Ihwanto as a suspect for spreading slanders and defaming First Lady Iriana Jokowi through his Instagram account @warga_biasa.

“His status is a suspect. He is the owner of the Instagram account and is also a college student,” said the National Police Spokesman Insp. General Setyo Wasisto on Tuesday, September 12.

Police found out that Dodik posted a picture of Iriana Jokowi with a hateful caption on September 7. The following day, police secured a witness in Bandung with the initials of DW who personally knows Dodik.

Police then arrested Dodik in Palembang and confiscated several items such as two cellphones, a flag and a keychain of a mass organization.

The netizens were outraged by the picture and collectively requested for the police to arrest the creator of the hateful image. It was even tweeted to one of President Jokowi’s son, Kaesang Pangarep, though he replied gracefully by urging the public to forgive the picture's creator.
