AFF Cup Indonesia VS Vietnam Ends in 3-0, Vietnam Triumphs

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian U-19 football team lost to Vietnam with the final score of 3-0 during the Group B AFF Cup at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, today.
The Indonesian squad that was led by Indra Sjafri, played failed to develop a good strategy throughout the game. The absence of attacking midfielder Feby Eka Putra in the game led the team to fully rely on Egy Maulana Vikri.
Vietnam easily overcame Indonesia’s U-19 strategy which was evident by the fact that Egy was tightly guarded by the Vietnam players.
Goalkeeper Muhammad Riyandi’s injury in the game’s 38th minute just burdened the team even further. Replacement Aqil Savik was forced to concede just two minutes after Riyandi was taken off the field after Le Van Nam scored for Vietnam.
Van Nam scored another goal just four minutes after his first one. This time he successfully headed the ball after he received a crossing from Indonesia’s right side of defense which concluded the goals in the first round.
On the second round, Vietnam once again scored a goal in the 86th minute if the game from a corner kick that Indonesia’s U-19 failed to anticipate, which then ended with a 3-0 score. This makes Indonesia uncertain to advance through AFF Cup semifinals.
