TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on Friday opened with a 0.12-percent drop to 5,825.12 bps. Meanwhile, the LQ45 weakened by 0.19 percent to 969.04 bps.
Valbury Asia Securities's vice president of research and analysis Nico Omer Jonckheere said here on Friday that the index slumps over negative external sentiments.

Internally, he said there are enough positive domestic sentiments that can help the JCI withstand external pressures.
Among these are the low budget deficit in August and ample tax income.
August's budget deficit stood at 1.65 percent, a yoy decline from August 2016's 2.09 percent. August's tax income amounted to Rp780.03 trillion, 53 percent from this year;s target.
