TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transportation Ministry said that the railway project for the Soekarno-Hatta airport train is going well, with progress rate reaching 82 percent.
"The remaining 18 percent is the hardest part because the landfill work for the railway must be done in stages from lanes that only have one door," Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

According to Budi, the ground must be elevated by 8 meters for the tracks. "Currently, we have 5 kilometers to be elevated. We have finished the work for one kilometer," he said.
Budi said he wants relevant construction work in train stations to be accelerated. He said that with the current progress, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport train project can be completed on time, which is by November as targeted.
Once the airport train operates, people from Jakarta can reach the Soekarno-Hatta Airport by boarding a train that stops at Manggarai, Sudirman Baru, Duri, and Batu Ceper.
From Manggarai Station, the approximate travel time is estimated to take 57 minutes.
