TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Congress of Indonesian Advocate demanded Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi be stripped off of her Nobel Peace Prize. The Congress argues that the former Myanmar pro-democracy activist had deliberately let the humanitarian crisis to take place.

“Aung San Suu Kyi has shed no words and maintained to turn a blind eye against the massacre that is currently happening under her own nose,” said Tjoetjoe Sandjaja Hernanto, Chairman of the Indonesian Advocate Congress yesterday, September 5.

The violence against minorities in Rakhine State, Myanmar, has continued to go on leaving hundreds dead following the military’s initial attack against Rohingya militias on August 25. It is reported that around 400 people were killed and has left thousands injured and fleeing to its neighboring country of Bangladesh.

Tjoetjoe demands the Myanmar government to stop the massacre against the people of Rohingya and bring the perpetrators to the International Court of Justice. “Stop this act of savagery and genocide against humanity especially the Rohingya Muslim minority,” he said.
