TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Agus Martowardojo expected the Automated Teller machine (ATM) network disruption to a number of banks can be resolved on September 10.
“We cannot let (ATM) services for the people get disrupted,” Agus said on Friday, Setember 1.
Agus explained that the disruption occurred to Telkom 1 satellite can be dealt with since it is only one medium, and there is always an alternative medium.
“For instance, Telkom 1 satellite has Telkom 2 or Telkom 3s satellites as an alternative. As a result, when Telkom 1 satellite has problems, an alternative network will be used,” he said.
The Bank Indonesia governor continued that such a procedure is a form of caution or continuity plan to guarantee seamless services to the people. He added that each day at least 1000 ATMs can be converted and prepared to provide services.
