TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un seems to be happy after being blessed with a child recently. He became the father of another child, after his wife escaped from the public eye for several months.

As reported by The Star on August 29, 2017, First Lady of North Korea, Ri Sol-ju,  gave birth to her third child in February.

The report was first derived by South Korea's Yonhap news agency, on Tuesday, citing South Korean lawmakers informed by the National Intelligence Service.

Ri has disappeared for a long time last year, raising speculation that she may be pregnant. News of the new birth was released as North Korea fired ballistic missiles north of Japan.

According to previous intelligence reports, Ri married Kim in 2009 and gave birth to their first child in 2010. Ri gave birth to their second child, in 2013.

Kim Jong Un is the third generation of dynasties that ruled North Korea. Little information is  revealed about the the family figure.

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman, after his journey to North Korea in 2013, has been the sole source of information about the couple's two children - a baby girl named Ju-ae.

Saying that Ri had carried Kim's daughter, Rodman described the North Korean leader as a "good father" who has a "good family".

Reports related to Kim Jong-un's family are minimal. When his father Kim Jong-Il was alive, Kim's personal details remain little known. Even his exact birthday and wedding date have not been confirmed.

South Korea's intelligence report describes Ri coming from an ordinary family, her father an academic teacher and her mother a doctor.

She visited South Korea in 2005 as a cheerleader for her country team at the Asian Athletics Championships.
