Number of Japanese, Taiwanese Tourists Visiting Bali Rises

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of Japanese and Taiwanese tourists enjoying vacation to Bali has recently risen even though the increase is not significant.
"Japanese tourists visiting Bali have increased 2,241 people or 2.41 percent from 109,424 tourists in the first semester in 2016 into 112,065 tourists in the first semester in 2017," Bali Statistics Agency (BPS) head Adi Nugroho said in Denpasar on Sunday (27/8).
He explained that Japanese tourists in Bali can contribute 3.99 percent out of the total international tourists in Bali as much as 2,811 million people in the first semester of 2017, with the increase of 539,681 people or 23.76 percent compared to that of the same semester in the previous year with 2,271 million people.
This makes Japan to place fifth out of ten countries contributing the highest number of international tourists visiting Bali after China, Australia, India and UK.
Meanwhile, Adi Nugroho added, Taiwan ranks ninth by contributing 73,941 tourists in the first semester of 2017, with the increase 8,808 people or 13.52 percent compared to that of the same semester in the previous year with 65,133 people.
