TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Forbes Indonesia magazine removed the title of Anniesa Hasibuan as one of the inspirational women of 2017. The repeal of the title was related to the case entangling Anniesa Hasibuan and her husband, Andhika Surachman.
Forbes Indonesia magazine decided to remove the title of Anniesa Desvitasari Hasibuan, one of the owners of First Travel, from the list of inspiring women. This is related to the alleged fraud case of umrah travel agency First Travel owned by Anniesa Hasibuan and her husband Andhika Surachman.
"After considering the latest developments in the case of fraud allegations of First Travel, Forbes Indonesia has decided to annul the title of Anniesa Hasibuan as an inspiring female figure," Forbes Indonesia said on their Instagram account @ForbesIndonesia.
According to Forbes, the title was awarded earlier this year. At that time, the First Travel case had not been released to the public. "Forbes Indonesia encourages good ethics of business practices and we hope these inspiring women can inspire others to achieve success," Forbes wrote.
Anniesa Hasibuan was named one of many inspirational women by Forbes in the April 2017 edition. Other prominent female figures according to Forbes are Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Commissioner of Deposit Insurance Corporation Destry Damayanti, and Wardah cosmetic entrepreneur Nurhayati Subakat.
