TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nurhaida officially became deputy chairman of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the period of 2017-2022. She was sworn into office at the Supreme Court Building in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 22.
"The new Board of Commissioners has drafted several strategic policies for future improvements," Nurhaida said.
According to Nurhaida, she will look thoroughly to decide which policies will be kept as is and which to develop.
For the short-term, the OJK plans on—among others—encouraging organizational efficiency and prioritized budget to support the implementation of OJK's main duties and functions as regulator, supervisor, and protecting the interests of financial services consumers and the public.
In addition, she will ensure that OJK's regulation and supervision provide a direct and concrete positive impact on the effort to create a sustainable and stable financial system.
The OJK will improve the quality of cooperation and inter-institutional coordination, especially with the Finance Ministry, Bank Indonesia, and the Deposit Insurance Corporation.
"We will also push for constructive and synergistic collaboration with stakeholders in relation with [efforts to] deepening the inclusive financial markets in support of achieving equitable development," said Nurhaida.
