TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - This year edition of Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2017 has set a new record cars sales. Visitors have ordered 21,000 cars as of August 20.
The figure could continue to rise because many license holders had yet to submit their purchase order report. Meanwhile, some 20,384 vehicles were sold at last year’s GIIAS.

“We are grateful that this year’s GIIAS recorded a significant increase in visitors as of the end of the event,” Gaikindo chairman Yohannes Nangoi said yesterday.
GIIAS 2017 featured Indonesian auto industry players who showcased new products, product development and new technologies.
Gaikindo’s decision to invite license holders to bring their best cars has proved fruitful. GIIAS 2017 saw as many as 47 launches of new products and concept cars, including 3 world premiere of passenger, commercial and concept cars.
The introduction of the latest products and technology has helped put GIIAS among the list of prominent international auto exhibitions, such as Frankfurt Auto Show, Tokyo Motor Show, Detroit Auto Show, Geneva Motor Show, etc.
