Budget for Social Ministry Rises Into Rp34 Trillion in 2018

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Budget allocation of Social Affairs Ministry in 2018 increases significantly to Rp34 trillion from Rp17.32 trillion. It is based on Ministry of Finance Circular Letter No. S-629/MK.02/2017 on August 8, on K/L budget allotment update and 2018 K/L budget.
Most of the budget is used for social protection and security programs which include Family Hope Program (PKH). The budget addition will be focused to handle the poor which includes non-cash food assistance program (BPNT).

Social Affairs Ministry’s directorate general of social security and protection Harry Hikmat said that Social Affairs Ministry received PKH budget allotment as much as Rp17.8 trillion for social protection and security and also received the addition to transform rice social assistance (Rastra) into non-cash food assistance (BPNT). "The total budget is around Rp34 trillion," Harry said in Jakarta on Friday, August 18.
In terms of budget allotment, 87 percent of the budget is allotted to social assistance programs. Meanwhile, the remaining 13 percent is allocated for employees, goods, and capital.
