TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government will add road sections on Jalan Rasuna Said in South Jakarta by dismantling the former monorail masts owned by Adhi Karya, which are located in between the slow and fast lanes.
"There's no problem with dismantling it in order to add lanes," City Secretary Saefullah said at the City Hall, Monday, August 14.
Adhi Karya will be in charge of dismantling the poles. Saefullah reminded that the dismantling must be done cautiously because there is a water channel below them.
The poles' demolition, he added, is also necessary because Adhi Karya will continue with LRT construction for the Dukuh Atas-Cawang line through Jalan Rasuna Said.
The addition of roads will also be done along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin. The fast and slow tracks on the two streets will be eliminated and the divider path, where plenty of trees are planted between the lanes, will be dismantled.
The trees, Saefullah said, will be relocated and replanted on the sidewalk. "All parks will be located on the roadside," he said.
