Mercu Buana Housing Facility Catch Fire, Rp600mn Loss Estimated

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- PT Mercu Buana Estate employee housing facility on Jatinegara Street, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta caught fire.
East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency head Gatot Sulaeman said that 13 units were deployed to contain the fire.
“13 Units and supporting units were sent. The fire was put out,” Gatot confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday evening (12/8). He continued that the units had difficulty accessing the site due to narrow roads and they also needed to cross the river.
Gatot explained that the report came in from a witness named Aldi Prasetyo at 8.10 in the evening. The team rushed in to the site with the area of 10 to 50 meters on fire. Gatot estimated that the fire costs Rp 600 million of loss.
The team arrived at 8.25 and the fire was contained 1.5 hours later, at around 08:58.
According to Gatot, the cause of fire is still under investigation.
