Police Arrest Terrorist Suspect in Sumedang

TEMPO.CO, Sumedang - The counter-terrorism squad of National Police, Densus 88, arrested a terrorist attack in Sumedang, West Java on Saturday morning, August 12.

"Today at around 7 am, we arrested Dadang Gunawan a.k.a Odong a.k.a Zamzam as a terrorist suspect," said Head of Public Relations Division of West Java Regional Police Comr. Sr. Police Yusri Yunus through a text message on Saturday.

Yusri added that Dadang was arrested at a housing complex in Cinanjung village, Tanjung Sari sub - district, Sumedang.

Dadang is a member of Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) Bandung and allegedly knew the plan of the bombing in Kampung Melayu bus station in East Jakarta at the end of May this year.

"He was part of the JAD Bandung group attended an event organized by the group on May 19, before the bombing,” said Yusri.
