First Travel Case: OJK to Enhance Education on Financial Products

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Financial Services Authority (OJK) will enhance education on financial products and services to the people in the event of the First Travel case.

"In the future, we will intensify educational efforts so that people can choose any services and products which involve tying up their money in a particular period," OJK chairman Wimboh Santoso said in Jakarta on Friday, August 11.

The aim of this educational effort is to empower people with relevant information deemed important to help people to base their consideration in deciding whether the financial products or services bear high risks. In addition, this effort is also intended to help financial services companies to manage the fund entrusted to them.

The Police have named First Travel bosses Andika Surahman and Anniesa Desvitasari Hasibuan as suspects for alleged money laundry case. Wimboh said that the revoke of First Travel license is under the authority of Religious Affairs Ministry and the ministry did revoke their license.
