TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spent Wednesday morning searching the Public Works and Spatial Layout Office of Malang City. After the search was completed, the antigraft body moved to the Mayor's Office, also to conduct a search.
KPK chief Agus Rahardjo said on Wednesday, August 9, that the antigraft body's search in several places in Malang was not related to the sting operation (OTT). He said the Commission did so because there are cases that must have been being investigated.
For cases with official investigations, Agus said, the KPK has named suspects; "the Malang Regional Legislative Councils (DPRD) speaker and the chairman of the Public Works Office. I forgot the details," he said today.
The Malang Regional Legislative Councils (DPRD) speaker is M. Arief Wicaksono, who is PDIP Party's board chairman of its Malang branch.
Agus admitted that he did not remember the details of the project that the DPRD speaker and Public Works Office chairman are implicated in. "The details will be revealed during an expose. I often forget," said the KPK chief.
